ART OF THE NEW WEST

Created for the Calgary Stampede’s inaugural Artists Ranch Project, this collection was titled Art of the New West – an homage to the recently adopted Calgary motto ‘Heart of the New West’.  Traditional western art usually invokes images of cowboys, horses and beautiful landscapes of mountains and plains. This series is the contemporary abstract expressionist answer to that style. Inspired by energy, dynamism, and the sheer beauty of our people and places of Alberta.
